Skills Enhancement Program

This program helps to increase the income and economic self-sufficiency of households by assisting with the training needs of low-income workers. 

Funding and assistance available for:

     ·Tuition, books, and other items necessary for coursework

     ·Travel and transportation

      ·Child care

      ·Employment Services


     ·Must be working at least 20 hours per week

     ·Must be 18 years of age

     ·Income must be at or below 150% of the federal poverty guidelines

     ·Residents of Wood, Marathon, and Lincoln Counties

Other details:

Initial screening can be done over the phone or you may schedule an appointment with an outreach worker.  If you appear to meet the criterial listed above after filling out your application you will need to provide proof of employment and household income.  Enrollment of qualified participants will be based on a first-come, first served. There are a limited number of funds available for this program, so completing an application does not mean automatic enrollment.  If all Skills Enhancement slots are full, you may be put on a waiting list.
